DARK SHADOWS 563
DARK SHADOWS 563
KLS. Sometimes, the narration
says, Collinwood senses peace. The narration goes on to tell us that the two
villains are upset and so that could upset the peace. OR something.
Different reprise with some
different camera angles and different dialog.
Tomorrow Morning, Blair will
visit Tom but knows that Angelique would like to take care of it. The way these
two talk, now makes it more like a campy show with them as super villains.
Blair says, “For Tom
Jennings’ case will have a climax his doctors are not expecting.” Uhm….less said the better maybe.
NOTE: just dawned on me, why
isn’t Tom a werewolf, too, like the later Chris will be? He’s related, isn’t
he?
When the nurse blocks Blair
again and lets Maggie in, he gets a rare (from him) IDU. Maggie has permission
from the doctor.
Blair lies and says he is
Tom’s lawyer. Now why would he do that? She will not let him in. This is also
the time of the show JULIA. Maggie comes. Joe and Maggie visit Tom every day.
Maggie DOESN’T KNOW OR NOTICE Tom’s neck wound????
Did any of that storyline
with Barnabas ever happen? And how could they think Willie was to blame for all
of that?
Tom sees Maggie alone and
mentions a coffin and a room. The nurse gives him a sedative.
In the vestibule, the time
says
BLUE WHALE. Where? It’s been
a long time. Maggie comes in to Joe, who is sorry he didn’t show up or call her
or answer the phone. Maggie tells him she is not the type of girl that will nag
her boyfriend or husband about where is all the time. NO?
Angelique’s coffin opens and
she sits up. She mentally starts summoning Joe. She shows her fangs. The Blue
Whale still has still waters: it’s a photograph.
Joe keeps snapping at Maggie,
who feels for the first time she cannot read his expression.
As Angelique summons Joe, the
camera seems to lose locking and sways down and then up.
Joe says he is going to go to
the hospital. He rushes out.
Blair comes in. The life
preserver on the wall has no ship name on it. Blair will charm all her problems
away.
Blue Whale outside: now we
see a film insert as the small boats are actually moving on the water, rocking. Blair pulls a napkin off
two drinks, real magic? No. He tells her whatever it is she would not do in
sensible way, they shall do including swimming after dark and staying out past
Blair says, “I’m trying to
take advantage of you.” “I don’t believe
you.” He smiles in close up, “You will,
you’ll see.”
The extreme close up makes
his dialog all the more creepy as the camera is so close as to read his mind of
evil.
He likes women who have a
sense of themselves. Maggie: IDK that I do.
Camera shot on their drinks.
Why? Are they implying something? Blair likes serious women. He talks of a
magic wand and wanting her carefree and smiling. When she says she thinks he is
magician, he tells her in a way he is. She wants to have fun. Fun? Dinner here?
Joe goes to Angelique (and
gets an IDU) and guesses it was she that attacked Tom. Despite this, he can’t
resist her again and they hug. Dog howls.
Joe visits Tom who tells him
about Blair and tells Joe to tell the police he didn’t make this up. WHY HASN’T
TOM CALLED THE POLICE THE MOMENT HE CAME TO?
Or better yet: why haven’t
the police figured out that someone attacked Joe and put protection on him?
Better still: why haven’t the police noticed the similarities between this and
the attacks last year? Tom gets an IDK and says, “It does sound strange and
funny.”
Tom tells Joe that the woman
that attacked him has blond hair and strange eyes. There was a bird sound or
the sound of wings and then he couldn’t move.
The way Tom’s head and the
lamp was filmed it makes it look like he is wearing a dunce hat. Joe believes
Tom but acts odd. Joe opens the window and later at
Angelique is in the room and
bites Tom. Credits have the coffin room and a blue light suddenly pops on and
then off.
Review: Sort
of…inconsequential despite Joe’s being taken over again and Tom’s unfortunate
events. Maggie continues to be dull as
dishwater.
Why Blair likes her so much
is beyond me? He’s clearly falling in love with her…which is ironic. Again,
though and I keep making this complaint: the family is so far out of the show,
it’s annoying.
And as much as I like Joe, he
can’t hold an episode on his own without Julia or Barnabas or even Willie. SO
in this ep, we have Tom and the villains. Not great.
On top of that, almost
everything is punctuated. Tom, we know is going to get attacked. Blair told us.
Joe will help. Blair told us. Maggie will remain clueless. No one has to tell
us that. Angelique will bite Tom or kill him. Nothing seems energetic in this
episode at all.
