SUPERMAN AND LOIS: the finale's final scenes

SUPERMAN AND LOIS: the finale's final scenes

It...was...sort of. BUT...no, ultimately, it fails as a finale, as a Superman story and as TV. I didn't even care enough to review it. I liked a lot of it, to be fair and honest. It basically says Clark has to die to forgive Lex and I guess that's like real life (and I do believe in an afterlife where we leave our crap behind us a lot like that) but this is not the Superman story I want to see, nor the sad ending I want to have. In a way, they blew the entire series in many aspects of it. First, Lois cancer has to come back? Did that have to happen? It's dismal and sad and that entire storyline is NOT one the show should ever have even approached let alone done. She dies and when he dies (the second mistake) Clark sees her at the door to eternity (I don't mind there being an afterlife) but she's all sexy and ready to F him? Third, Clark is lonely, fourth: Clark loses his Superman abilities, and ...well, wait, third and fourth is just sad and again, not the Superman story I want to see. Fifth: Clark is so lonely he had to get a normal dog...and that normal dog is called Krypto? What happens to the dog when Clark does die? Like GOTHAM, we get two unknowns posing as the boys grown up and it does not work. Then, when Clark dies he "sees" them as the boys we knew from the show. NONE of that works. Clark dies and says goodbye (in his head?) to all his friends who seem to see him, too, and they're alive. He forgives Lex which is probably the only good part but does Lex see him or know that Clark forgives him? Dramatically, again, none of that works. As a capped on ending, it just fails almost on every level.

earlier review: It was quite good until...you realize it's full of false premises. Did they have to make Superman die so young? Did they have to make Lois' cancer (the worst storyline this show ever did) come back? Did they have to have Krypto be a regular dog? Did they need the dog thing at all? Why couldn't Superman get his heart to assimulate into his body and be returned to Superman's full powers? I found it far too sad, far too much of a downer but at least they did have an afterlife sort of story and the forgiveness of Lex was a nice touch but overall, it did touch me but it also felt off in those last five to ten minutes. I didn't like it overall because of those last few moments. In a way this season picked up from seasons two and three which sort of sucked but overall I hate to see this show go because it had such potential and was far better than the Arrow show, Supergirl and how the Flash and the awful DC Legends got.
