SINGLE, OUT
season 2 episode 7: THE BIRTHDAY BOY
SPOILERS,
bitches! Bitches, spoilers!
No episode
that starts with Adam, shirtless (not for very long but he has it open a longer
time) and dancing before a mirror can be bad. Finally, the last episode of
season two has landed!
Oh dear God,
how refreshing. After a tumultuous six episodes, Adam gets to make things right
with Lex and even set Lex into thinking that his friend Hilly is into him that
way (is Lex gay or bi?). He also gets to confront Gabe and Gabe’s over his
anger and wants to be with Adam…the way Adam wants to be with Lex. It all works
out. They all accept where they are at and are friends. Marco is not in this
episode so does that mean the wedding happened? I forgot. Or will that be next
season? I hope there is a season three.
This,
thankfully, lighter episode caps off the season with a lunch / dinner for Clay’s
birthday and he brings girlfriend Kat along. I kept waiting for the other shoe
to drop and someone to upset someone else or someone to die but that never
happened and I love it.
There’s a
party, two actually, and everyone gets to dance. Adam accepts his single life
and has two weeks without sex…doctor’s orders. Mom is, once again, pretty funny
and Adam even gets along with Mom’s boyfriend Greg who is doing yoga across the
kitchen countertops and island and Greg even helps Adam cook the roast for Clay’s
birthday.
In his
discussions with everyone, individually, Adam shows growth and maturity. He’s
also wildly hilarious in his very being and extremely sexy without trying to
be. Dylon and Adam meet at least twice and the magazine comes out or is about
to and Adam gets to see an advance copy. Dylon hires him for the next magazine,
too. Dylon’s philosophy is appreciating what you have instead of worrying about
what you want.
This episode
works so well and is so refreshing in the current atmosphere of TV and the
world at large. I love this series. The balance is just perfect. The cast is
amazing and beautiful inside and out. Well done. Highly recommended.
Added: Theo turns green and the lips of the movie director turns green, too. Everyone gathered earlier to watch the movie, which I admit I didn't understand. Was Theo playing a Terminator?
