DARK SHADOWS 428
DARK SHADOWS 428
Nancy B (gosh she’s good in this episode
and creepy and sympathetic all at once). Peter goes to Collinwood and
encounters a crazy Millicent. She
tells him that Ben is at Eagle Hill
cemetery digging Josette's grave and
that Peter has a kind face. She mentions
she wants him to give Barnabas a
message if he sees him but Peter tells
her that Barnabas is dead. Why
would he tell that? Millicent laughs at
him and later at the portrait has
a voice over. Nathan forces his way in
and tells her he sincerely loves
her. She tells him as a child she had a
series of illnesses that left her
little time to learn about men and the
ways of life. "I love you as you
are," he also claims. He also claims
that her money was never a
consideration. I hear percolating coffee
as they talk. She mentions the
duel but fingers a knife. She tries to
stab him but Joshua comes in and
stops it. He takes her to her room and
tells Nathan to wait. When he
returns, it is Nathan vs Joshua. The
camera tilts upward toward the ceiling. Nathan tells him the marriage was an
unhappy one and he also lies about Suki:
telling Joshua Suki was here to
give him a divorce. Joshua tells him he
had reason to murder her. Nathan
admits he hated her but didn't kill her.
Joshua believes him, thinking he
does not have the coarse courage to kill
someone in murder. He will report
Nathan to the navy and he tells him not
to step foot on his property or he
will be shot. He also forbids him from
the shipyard despite the fact that
Nathan has work there to finish. Brief
mike on the ceiling glimpse.
Peter finds Ben and asks him if Vicki is
the witch. "I don't know," Ben
says. Peter asks if he thinks she is
capable of witchcraft. "I don't
know." Ben has heard of Peter and
tells him the witch, "not Miss Winters."
He fears Joshua will punish him if he
testifies or put him back in prison. Someone’s talking to someone else behind
the scenes.
Peter flubs, "If you're not willing
to help her no one's willing to
testify." Joshua arrives and vs
Peter. We hear other voices of the crew or
other actors. Joshua seems to flub the
word impudent when he calls Peter
an impudent young man. Joshua asks Ben
why he hangs around the mausoleum as
he's been seen lurking around there. He
knows it is not for pleasure. Ben
says it is for peace and quiet. Joshua
tells him about the empty coffin
and goes into the secret room, has Ben
open the coffin, and sees
Barnabas's body. We DO NOT see Barnabas's
face as it probably is not Frid
this time. Ben gets three IDKs and one
IDU.
A better ep. AND with Peter a terrible
counsel and even worse convincer as he fails to convince Ben and Joshua of
anything, he’s NOT the hero here. That falls to…Joshua!? I don’t get Ben’s
attitude here…he’s more afraid for himself NOW so he won’t help or even seem to
care about Vicki? It’s not in character with what we’ve seen before from him.
