1524-pirate ship is attacked and a captain, who bears a resemblance      to Capt. Brent, vows no ship will touch his treasure for a      thousand years (VBS-DEAD MEN'S DOUBLOONS).

1881-VBS-FIRES OF DEATH-Sailor Adam is changed by    Dr. Turner into  a silver skinned near immortal slave.

 

 

1910-the sarcophagus from the Mid East. The box is a national treasure belonging to one of the countries. It was found 70 years ago by American archaeologists and brought to the States. (THE MUMMY).

 

July 1916-Capt. Gerhardt Krueger, captain of the SS Edelweiss out of  Hamburg, an admiralty officer of the U-444, which sank  when it hit a submarine in WWI (VBS-THE PHANTOM STRIKES and VBS-THE RETURN OF THE PHANTOM).

 

September 1918: Kreugar’s U444 was attacked Sept. 1918 by an Allied convoy specifically a Canadian sub chaser which sank it. This happened in the North Atlantic--5000 air miles, 30,000 sea miles from where they saw the U444 in the Central Pacific.

 

1924-McDougall claims people have seen the Loch Ness monster for over 50 years but I think it goes way back longer than that. (THE SECRET OF THE LOCH).

 

1930-VBS-Seaview's main Doc is born.

 

1933- VBS-Harriman Nelson is born.

 

1937-VBS-Curly Jones is born.

1943- Nelson finds his Naval WWII book with Sam Gaines' picture in it--10 years before he died or was lost. (DEADLY INVASION)

 

1945-VBS-AND FIVE OF US ARE LEFT-WWII sub USS Tetra rescues  Japanese Lt. Nakamura, is then sunk but resurfaces in an      underwater cave where its crew and the Japanese officer        will remain for 28 years! Also aboard were Lt. Ryan,         Yeoman Johnson, Lt. Wilson, Torpedo man Bates. Ryan is        the father of Frank Werden, an operator who helps rescue          them 28 years later! 

 

1945-VBS-DEATH FROM THE PAST-German U Boat with Admiral Gustave Von         Neuberg and Lt. Froelich, Nazis, sinks. Later revived-35      years later in a suspended state all that time.

 

1945-VBS-Stan Kowalski is born (DEADLY WATERS).

 

1945-possible year Dr. Karl Reisner comes to United States to offer to work on the plankton project to feed starving peoples of the world. (PRICE OF DOOM)

1952-VBS-Smith, later a crewmember of Seaview, is born. He was Dr.     Zachary Smith's brother. Their father was known in the             Navy as old Bricktop.

 

1953-VBS-MAN OF MANY FACES-Sharkey starts Lincoln High School.

 

1953-possible time Nelson meets Dr. Karl Reisner (THE PRICE OF DOOM).

 

1953: General Gaines of National Space Administration is lost in a plane.

 

1954-Dr. Winslow’s research starts (THE AMPHIBIANS).

 

 

1955-LIS-Nov. 6, 1955-Dr. Zachary Smith born.

 

 1955-    VBS-At 17, Sharkey joins the regular Navy (BLOW UP-20 yrs.)

 

  1955- VBS-Chip Morton, 18 starts college; plays football against   Waymouth, Virginia's college team. 

 

1956-VBS-Stu Riley is born.

 

1957-conjecture: Crane in college: Crane's service record--he was intercollegiate middle weight boxing champion (for 2 years).

 

1958-VBS-The Nautilus sails to the North Pole undersea. Nelson served with Crane on this ship.

 

1958-possible year Dr. Karl Reisner, who once lived and worked in Nazi Germany, starts a plankton project to help end starvation. Was he an actual Nazi?

 

1963-or possibly 1964-- VBS-Sailor on leave Harriman Nelson on sabbatical, teaches  courses; Ellen (later Bryce) is in some, Walter  Bryce, later her husband, is also in some of Nelson's  classes. (THE GHOST OF MOBY DICK)

 

1965: Eight years ago Sims and York died in a cave in they tried to dig out. (AND FIVE OF US ARE LEFT).

 

 

1967-VBS-Admiral Nelson retires from regular Navy. Begins building      Seaview & at the same time also turns the sagging Bureau      of Marine Exploration into his own Nelson Institute of       Marine Rearch. Dr. Ava Winters helps Nelson build and  plan Seaview's design.

 

1967-Colonel Tom Washburn's dies (in 1973 he’s been dead for six years). Crane knew this.

 

Dr. Fred Wilson had some dealings with Crane???

 

1968-possible starting time Dr. Julie Lyle started working on the plankton project

 

1969-Sharkey is in the regular Navy 12 years at the time of BLOW UP.

Note: in production order  HAIL comes before HOT LINE. In air order it does not. Thus, the switch. No solution to these messed up month and date in the fictional world seems to work with either air date and/or production order. I chose this time to go with production order. BOTH takes place in 1973 so, that’s also a strong reason to keep the first half of season one (and DOOMSDAY!) in 1973 and not put the first half in (minus DOOMSDAY!) 1972. Plus it takes at least a year after a sub’s keel is laid to commission a sub! And it was laid in 1972. Sigh.

 

DOOMSDAY-1973 crew initiation ceremony—in both air date order and production order this comes after LONG LIVE THE KING, it cannot because of the initiation ceremonies. I’m tempted to keep ELEVEN DAYS TO ZERO, THE VILLAGE OF THE GUILT, THE MIST OF SILENCE, THE CITY BENEATH THE SEA, TURN BACK THE CLOCK, HAIL TO THE CHIEF

Bernard Quartermass appears as part of a        scientific meeting about the things. Strong links and         crossovers to HP Lovecraft. Very well written and tense       and scary!

VBS-THE DEATH CLOCK-Mallory, time manipulator, alternate time      track creator, makes a world of tomorrow for Seaview           where Crane kills Nelson and heads Seaview into a ray          that will destroy it. He also sends Crane to an island         where the crew hunt him down lead by Chip...and monsters      are.

 

    

 

     VBS-ANNUAL 67-THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY-anti gravity rocket, giant         sea monsters, a giant spider, squid-octopus giant, Tom         Mottram sails off in rocket into space...no food, no           water.

 

     VBS-ANNUAL 67-VANDERDECKEN SAILS AGAIN-another Flying Dutchman         tale. Indian Ocean, Mombasa, black plague, giant crab,         ghost ship, none of it true--merely a treasure hunting         ship and the ancient ship filled with treasure, rigged to          come up but the giant crabs and fish were real!

 

     VBS-ANNUAL 67-TRAPPED IN LOST ATLANTIS-Azores, Cape Verde          Islands, 2001 sea suits used by Seaviewers, more giant         monsters.
