DOCTOR WHO-MEGLOS part 3 and 4

I’m not sure what to say about these parts. The Asian trader who is seen shot and then who shoots and kills Lexa, who throws herself (though it’s not entirely clear on screen) in front of Romana to save her…then dies (?) but…he’s also seen on Zulfa Thora, too, in the same episode and not moments away from his “death”? WT? This is true of at least two of the traders. The Asian character is NOT seen on the rocket ship back, nor are a few of the others. That odd commanding looking King like character is. Who is he? Is he in any other scene? I don’t think so.

Tom’s obviously having a great time playing against himself. “I think I’ll go for a walk and catch up with myself.” As Meglos hiding among plants, and skulking about, lowering his body, and basically acting like a combo Dracula, evil HULK, Tom drinks it all up. There are also a few Tom-isms as such.

Overall, the story is not as bad as I felt on first viewing and on the last viewing. I guess our tastes change over time, with time, and due to different circumstances. This was rather enjoyable this time around.

There is one odd scene where having just barely escaped being airlocked between those inside the underground city and the traders outside, who are gunning for her (clever girl gets away using Douglas Adam-esque tactics), Romana RETURNS to the area with one of the Savants just as Meglos disguised as the Doctor moves out with the traders and…they either don’t see her or care that she’s there. They just leave.

All in all, a fun set of episodes. And yes, some of the execution is…odd.
