KYO KARA MAOH-92-MOON REFLECTED IN WATER

 

This show is so different and this episode reflects why I love it so much. It’s a warm show and usually mind swap episodes of shows are cliché, boring, and exhausting. This is none of those things. It’s a warm bond between Yuri and his brother Shori is examined in both the present and in a flashback to the Christmas when younger Yuri asked Shori to give him the moon as a present and Shori found a way. Much humor comes from Shori getting a game and though things might be lost in translation because it looks like Yuri as Shori is jerking himself off and the game is about girls (?) but more humor comes from the fact that Shori uses Conrad (who knew immediately that the boys had switched bodies but tells Wolfram if both Yuri and Shori thought not to tell them yet who was he to reveal it?) and Wolfram as servants to massage him. The arrival in water is funny, too. It looks like Wolfram has water in his mouth as his cheeks are expanded AND his foot is in Conrad’s hand!? Yuri in Shori gets beaten in a karate contest by his boss who also knew that this was Yuri at once. The African Japanese young Doctor appears, too. He might be in love with Shori but it’s hard to tell. The episode reminds me how great this show is even when it’s not full of action. It’s charming and filled with characters who love each other and have a good sense of humor. Here we see all of that and the bond between Shori and Yuri is a happy and positive one. Wow. Everyone’s in top form here and on best behavior, even Yuri who does not want the time expansive advantage the other world has, which would give him an unfair advantage on his final exams.

 

BTW, the song, lyrics and all, played during this episodes montage of Yuri and his older brother is one of the most beautiful pieces of music EVER anywhere.


MOON REFLECTED IN WATER-Yuri, Conrad, Wolfram and Murata returns to Earth so that Yuri is able to take his final exam. Due to Anissina's latest invention, Yuri and Shori ended up switching bodies!

"Let me do the talking, Willie."   KLS. No reprise.   Willie runs to the Old House and yells for Barnabas. He tells him what’s happened. About one half hour ago, Maggie escaped. And…it’s …cute!   Vicki comes in and I must say they finally have her look just right: she has never looked more pretty, her hair looks great, and her muscle tone is just right. Hmmm, yeah.
