“If I ever get out of here, the whole world is going to know what Barnabas is.”

 

“Carolyn Stoddard was involved in the experiment and she died.”

 

“Died?”

 

“Yes  and now Adam will go to Collinwood to destroy the family.”

 

 

KLS. Long and different reprise. Slightly different dialog. When Barnabas hits the staircase this time, it shakes. Different musical cues at times (Julia seeing Carolyn gone). New material after reprise. Julia actually comes downstairs

 

Julia, at the bed, calls to Barnabas.

 

Julia actually comes downstairs after calling to him and then the theme music and opening.

 

 

She tells him what happened. A new catch phrase for the show as he says, “That’s impossible.” 

 

Okay witches and vampires are but not this? It can’t disappear like that he says. Julia utters yet a new catch phrase, “I KNOW.” 

 

She was up there 15 minutes ago. She gets water and gives him a stimulant. Willie comes in. Julia seems to understand how he feels.

 

 

They tell him about Carolyn; Barnabas also tells him Adam is on his way to Collinwood to destroy the family but Willie, shocked at Carolyn’s death and upset, then asks where Adam is going.

 

Willie says Adam never got to Collinwood; he saw Adam in the woods, the giant man moving right past him. Adam was sitting under a tree.

 

Julia thinks Adam may have changed his mind about revenge. Barnabas asks, “Why?”  Julia: “I don’t know.” 

 

Willie cannot watch over Maggie; he needs his sleep, too, you know. Sooner or later, Maggie will go to the police and finish Barnabas for good. Barnabas, “I don’t know what to do!”  Willie and Barnabas…

 

Julia goes to the mausoleum. Maggie opens the door but runs into Julia who coldly says, “Hello Maggie.” 

 

Maggie remembers. Julia says, “Yes I KNOW.” 

 

Julia tells Maggie that Barnabas regrets what he did and has changed. Maggie calls him an animal and a monster. “You’re Barnabas’s friend, not mine.” 

 

Julia takes out the medallion and tells Maggie that it is the key to her survival. Maggie knows the medallion and knows what Julia did, “I will not forget what I know. If I ever get out of here, the whole world is going to know what Barnabas Collins is.”  

 

 

Okay so how did Julia get back out of the mausoleum without letting Maggie slip  out or fight her way out? Did she use a hypodermic? If you were Maggie, wouldn’t you try to beat the shit out of the old bag?

 

It looks like it might be 12: 50 am or so? It also looks like it is 4:33 am?

 

Barnabas tells a sad Julia, “I know you did everything you could.” Willie is back with Maggie. It has been one hour since Adam stormed out. Barnabas feels they have to face reality but he wishes he could spare the others the grief.

 

He will go to Collinwood, tell them everything and that Carolyn is dead. He will do his best to see that Julia is exonerated.

 

NOTE: we get about four I KNOWs in this ep.

 

He goes to Collinwood; VOICE OVER of all voice overs.

 

“I can’t go through with it. I can’t tell them Carolyn is dead. I’ll be forced to tell them about the experiment, Adam. Everything Julia and I have done. And if the truth starts to come out, where will it end? Where? No, I can’t think about that. The family has to know that Carolyn is dead. And how she died. I have to tell them no matter what happens to me. No matter what happens. I must tell them.”

 

 

He can’t tell them but he must: he must tell them about the experiment, about Adam, everything “Julia and I have done”, the truth.

 

He hesitates, “NO, I can’t think about that. The family has to know.”  Carolyn answers the door when Barnabas, head on door, knocks in humiliation. He’s shocked as she answered the door. AND she’s changed her dress from flowery pinkish to dark blue! The credits are shaky.

 

The death of Carolyn and the ramifications of that as well as the other threat: Maggie hit home for Barnabas and he’s about to give up his secret and tell the family everything. It’s  stunning moment when he approaches Collinwood to do this. Then what will stop him? Frankly, it’s sign posted that this would happen this way but for some reason it ALL took me surprise. I thought they might linger it out some more or do something else. When I first saw this, I thought maybe Carolyn was really dead…but I think I knew she’d appear again somehow…but it sure looks like she will be dead.
