Vicki. Girl. 1795. The whole fugitive thing was a big thing in the 1960s and why not? The show THE FUGITIVE was one of the best shows in the history of TV and still is. No reprise at all.

 

 

The narration makes a big deal of Vicki being a fugitive from the law. Daniel is at Collinwood’s drawing room looking in through the windows from outside. He pries the window open and sneaks in and goes to the door and lets Vicki in the front.

 

 

Huh? Why not just have both of them sneak in that way? No reprise. They go to the study where Daniel tells her if he knocks three times to let him in and to lock it after he goes. Vicki locks the door. As they talk briefly, we hear a squeaking drawer or door?

 

 

Daniel runs for Naomi but runs right into the insane Millicent, who is constantly befuddling plans. Daniel tells her that he was talking to himself. She laments that he’s not a little boy any longer, not the same little boy she brought here. He’s too big. Naomi arrives and hugs him, glad he’s safe. Millicent mentions Nathan and Naomi tells Daniel that he has driven Millicent mad. When they are alone, Daniel tells Naomi about Vicki and they go to the HALL OUTSIDE THE STUDY DOOR  which I think we see for the first time. Naomi, Daniel, and Vicki compare notes to what has happened. Peter was here two hours ago.

 

Why are there weapons on the wall like a rod with a spiked ball on it and a crossbow?

 

Millicent and Nathan talk. They come to the study and knock on the door. As the commercial music builds, in a panic, Naomi says, “What do you want?”  She says it again as they hide Vicki in the closet. Naomi calls the shack deserted. Daniel describes Noah: thin, reddish hair, a scar, and not much taller than him. Noah is dead, they tell Nathan who tells them Noah is no friend of his. Nathan tells them he brought Peter to the jail. After Nathan and Millicent leave, Daniel will go to bed and Ben will sit with him all night.

 

Nathan tells Millicent they should sign up legal documents to make him legal guardian of Daniel. Millicent tells him the witch is in this house. “This house is filled with people who are not what they seem.”   He sends her to bed.

 

Vicki tells Naomi she killed Noah and Vicki mentions Daniel’s name as David, then corrects herself. THEN Naomi says, “Thank you for saving David..Daniel.”  Vicki will sleep in Naomi’s room tonight.

 

Nathan comes down steps and passes Daniel, telling him that he knows Vicki is in the house. On the steps we see a shadow of a crew member. Nathan tells the kid, who’s being real cool about it all, that he never tells the truth. He grabs Daniel but Naomi stops him, yelling at him loudly. After Daniel goes, Naomi tells Nathan that there was a witness to Noah’s shooting. She won’t go into details. To counter this, Nathan tells her about Barnabas being alive and urges her to go to the Tower Room, and says, “Your son is the strangler.”   Naomi takes his advice and goes to the Tower Room and opens the coffin but we seem to see her stop…

 

Again, a good ep, quick but again, Nathan and Millicent are really getting to me at this point. Naomi is finally getting some…well, bravery and doing something. She’s not taken a drink in many eps. Then…well….
