  GODZILLA VS KONG   Okay, wow. Despite all the hype and my pressing doubts that Godzilla would take precedence over King Kong, I thought…let me give this a chance. I’m no huge Millie Bobby Brown fan but this movie might nudge me in that direction. I didn’t like her turn in season two of STRANGER THINGS but whatever.   This is surprisingly better than the original and I find that an entertaining classic (and yes, I love the original’s USA soundtrack more than the Japanese version soundtrack but in general the soundtracks of the 1960s movies, Japan and US are far better than modern day soundtracks) with a better soundtrack (US version). I do miss the native music, though.   With a few strands of plot that meld together nicely and KONG as the hero, cast sympathetically as such, and a great supporting cast of actors and fairly good writing, this is a winner.   First thing I noticed is the monsters are cast as monster, animals that follow instinct.   WE CAN BE HEROES-just spotted this wonderfully cast, highly imaginative kids’ movie that is really more sophisticated than one might think on first look: it’s a fun filled, enjoyable, entertaining parody of the Marvel Avengers movies with a bit of X Men thrown in to and it really can inform those movies, especially the fractured X MEN movies (who’s theme seems to be friendship doesn’t really exist, all friends will let you down, betray you and eventually kill you, utterly) in that team work really works…uhm, and feels great, too.   The plot can be viewed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Can_Be_Heroes_(film)#Critical_response   With such as cast of well known celebs and bright talented newcomers, I’m surprised this movie is not better known or talked about.   THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER 1-2   NEW WORLD ORDER and STAR SPANGLED MAN The first two episodes of this have appeared on DISNEY PLUS. Okay so I’m more a DC fan than a Marvel fan but I love the Marvel movies and as for Marvel TV…well, THE GIFTED was great and the others not so much. If there was another Marvel movie, such as another AVENGERS movie, I’d watch that, too. Though I have to admit that they needed to stop the full on crowd of heroes against monsters and armies. Or monster armies. Or army monsters. Whatever. I’d love to see Tom Holland’s SPIDERMAN in a solo movie where it’s just him against one or two villains instead of some huge gimmicky thing…love his movies though.   That said, I never saw the CAPTAIN AMERICA movies, though I own them somewhere.   EARTH 2-AFTER THE THAW   Well, it’s a less visceral THE THING isn’t it? And darned great, too. The world looks like a snowy one, and the scenes are all filmed well, especially the snow stuff. I entirely forgot the guiding hand from Ragmuffin and the advice from The Elder, both from THE GREATEST LOVE STORY NEVER TOLD. The mystery of the thing is a good one and the explanation----that it is the sum of all Terrian raw emotion all stuffed into one Terrian ---is a great plot device. I also had no idea the first time who it was in, the energy.   Baines: now this is not phobic comment but I always felt this, this actor now plays a gay man on 911 on Fox and I always felt that Baines was played as a gay man. This doesn’t mean because he hides in the TransRover (mentioned by Alonzo in a later episode, possibly the greatest episode FLOWER CHILD) but just his while demeanor.
